Concept feasibility and
preliminary design work;
We can cast an objective eye over your concept and
advise on the best way forward.
For more complex problems, we can also conduct a
preliminary study in order to properly assess the suitability of a number of
different design solutions. Our advice is underpinned by a high degree of
technical competence, general engineering knowledge and practical
experience, and we always relish a challenge.
Design for prototyping and production;
Having established the most suitable route to success, we have the tools,
knowledge and contacts to complete the detailed design of your project.
Engineering analysis capabilities :
Loads Analysis
Stress analysis and static strength prediction (including composites)
Fatigue analysis and life prediction—a speciality.
Natural frequency and stiffness analysis
Finite Element Analysis (including composites ply by ply)
We can also arrange CFD based aerodynamic or hydrodynamic
optimisation.
Design Qualification and approvals
:- For legal or insurance
purposes, it is often necessary or at least advisable to seek certification
for certain types of engineering product. We routinely work with certifying
bodies (CAA, DNV, GL: etc.), so are used to designing in accordance with
their requirements and producing certification documentation.
Prototype and Production run manufacture;
It's our production facility
and experience that really sets us apart from other design consultancies.
Close co-operation between design and production staff ensures a smooth,
efficient transition from CAD screen to prototype and beyond, and helps us
to avoid the many problems and pitfalls that normally beset a project at
this stage. We can manufacture single prototypes, handle early
production runs (including the incorporation of any design modifications)
and can arrange for larger production runs of mature products, either in
house or sub-contracted, depending on size and volume.
Documentation; When
we hand it over, it is complete with all necessary documentation (as
appropriate) to produce including production QA documentation, traceability
and product costing.
